I arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport for my four-hour layover. I immediately went to the information counter to ask where I’m supposed to go. I showed the woman my boarding pass and she said that my flight to Incheon had been delayed from 11:30 Pm to 5:30 AM. She directed me to another counter. The man there provided me with a dinner voucher and said I would be put up in a hotel overnight. He told me to exit the airport and board the bus. That’s all the information I got.

So after eating my free dinner I went through security, got my passport stamped, and left the airport. I saw a purple bus that looked like it was about to pull away. I didn’t want to risk missing out on my free hotel room, so I ran and jumped onto the bus right before it pulled away. As it turns out, that was actually a shuttle bus that transports people between the two terminals, so I had to take it back to Terminal 1.

Upon reentering the terminal, I exchanged my remaining rupiah for Malaysian Ringgits. Then I went to the fifth floor to ask for help. After a long wait a man escorted to the correct bus.

During the hour-long bus ride I toyed with the idea of taking a taxi to see the Petronas Towers in order to take full advantage of my extra time in Malaysia, but after checking into my room, I didn’t want to leave.

It was the most spacious, beautiful hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, and I was only there for a few hours.

For your viewing pleasure, here is a tour of my room at the Grand Dosset Hotel.
